Abortion Access Campaign West public meeting
Date: 1 Oct 2018 7:30-9:03pm
Venue: Richardson’s Pub, 1 Eyre Square, Galway
Abortion Access Campaign West will be hosting a public meeting on Monday 1st October at 7:30 in Richardson’s pub, 1 Eyre Square, Galway.
In May, Irish citizens voted massively in favour of repealing the 8th amendment and decriminalise abortion in Ireland. The new legislation will be introduced in the Dáil on the first week of October.
“We are concerned that the proposed legislation will not guarantee equal access to everyone across the whole country” said the spokeperson for the group, Lorraine Grimes.
During this meeting, AACW will discuss their views on the current legislative proposal and ideas to ensure appropriate abortion care to all. The meeting will also be a space for people to bring their own thoughts on the proposal.
Speakers will include Dr Amie LaJoie (NUI Galway) among others. (TBA)
The event is free and open to the public; no tickets or reservations are needed.
